The Macrobiotic Archives - Issue 1, Part 1
The 1983 Kushi Institute Macrobiotic Archives
With this post we take a break from Michio Kushi Seminar Reports and go both forward and backward in time. We go forward in time to 1983 with the publishing of the Kushi Institute’s “The Macrobiotic Archives”, a ring bound notebook with 6 issues released to subscribers one issue at a time. The “Macrobiotic Archives” was conceived and designed by me, when I was running the East West Foundation using materials compiled by Marc Van Cauwenberghe. (I’ve been sharing materials for well over 40 years as you can see.) We go backward in time to introduce this collection of never-before and out-of print materials that includes material by Georges Ohsawa from as early as 1929 as well as Ohsawa’s comic book, “Jack And Yoyo In Erewhon”. Also included are materials from Michio Kushi. Unfortunately, no other volumes were issued as the dynamics of the Kushi organizations changed. These “Macrobiotic Archives” were only issued once. (This specific binder was sent to me to share with all of you by my good friend, Michael Rossoff.)
It is recommended that you purchase a ring bound notebook with six dividers if you plan on printing these following pages. Offered here first is part one of Issue No.. 1 of six issues. These 12 parts of 6 issues will be released every Wednesday for the next 12 weeks starting with this one. You can download the PDF version below or scroll down to read the pages online.

Good morning Phiya,
I am Carlos Aponte who gathered, organized, indexed and boxed with printed content lists, the hundreds of video and audios of Michigan in the attic at the big house in becket. And wrote the first chapter of the book, ‘Remembering Micho.’
Please keep me on your distribution for both my Substack account(carlosaponte1@substack.com and my gmail account, carlos.aponte.ca@gmail.com.
I am now going to start a new series on my Substack account to introduce my project fifteen years in the making, a wholistic approach to the obesity epidemic among lower income people. It integrates TCM, western medicine and wholistic practices. When I publish the first intro piece this month, I’ll forward to you.
Thanks a lot Phiya.
